Mrs. Robbins, Graduation Coach
Welcome to the new Graduation Coach program webpage. My name is Michelle Robbins and I am the graduation coach at Northwestern Middle School. Northwestern Middle School is what I know. I have been a member of the faculty for the past 21 years and it is a school I am so proud to be a part of. For the past years, I was a 7th and 8th grade special education math teacher. I have served on the leadership committee as the special education department chair for 14 of those years. Additionally, I am a leadership team member, 504 chair, SST chair and the textbook coordinator. I am excited to continue this journey as Northwestern's graduation coach. Working with all of the children at Northwestern as a mentor, coach and leader is something I look forward to. I hope that this website will serve as a useful and beneficial tool for you as you continue to assist your student in their school career. Be sure to check back frequently as new information is added.
What is a Graduation Coach?Recognizing that the dropout problem often starts before high school, the Governor and General Assembly authorized funding to place Middle School Graduation Coaches in middle schools throughout Georgia beginning with the 2007-2008 school year. These Middle School Graduation Coaches will help ensure the successful transition of all students from elementary school and provide comprehensive prevention and intervention programs for middle school students to help prepare them for their high school and post-secondary careers.
